Tennis Instructor Needed

Shafter Recreation is in need of a tennis instructor for this upcoming season. If you have any experience in tennis as a coach or as a player, and great with kids come apply today. This is a part-time and seasonal position, making it perfect for a summer job. During the tennis camp you will be going over the fundamentals and the rules of play. Practices are projected to be twice a week on Wednesday’s at 6:00-8:00 pm and Friday’s at 7:00am-9: 00 am and 7:00pm-8: 30 pm but is flexible to accommodate your schedule. Season is from June-July.

Community Park Development Meetings

Your comments and participation is strongly encouraged as the Shafter Recreation & Park District embarks on the development of a NEW COMMUNITY PARK.

Weekday Meetings will be held at the Shafter Senior Center 505 Sunset Ave.

Summer Day Camp

Summer Day Camp

Last summer was our first time we hosted a camp like this, and it was a great success! Giving the kids an opportunity to take part in multi-media, film, photography, lego’s, arts & crafts, weaving, math, science, swimming, and other fun learning experiences.

Summer camp starts on June 3rd and ends July 26th. Camp opens at 7:30 am and closes at 5:30.pm

Grades k-8th Grade

$200—4 weeks

$300– 6 Weeks

$350– 8 weeks

Preschool

(3 years old & Potty Trained)

New Zumba Schedule

 

Starting Tuesday, December 4, 2018.

The Zumba dance fitness class will be:
Tuesday and Wednesday Evenings, 7-8 pm.  It’s  $5 a class at the Walker Center 505 Sunset Ave. 

Make sure to bring water,  a hand towel for sweat, and your dancing shoes!    
Open to females, ages 16 +
and please check with your physician beforehand if necessary.

746 Sports Foundation

Interested in being apart of the “746 Sports Foundation” board?

Dear 746 Sports Foundation Board Candidate:

Thank you for your commitment to the Shafter Community and your interest in the 746 Sports Foundation for creating recreational opportunities to help strengthen Shafter families and our youth.  We seek to establish a forward-looking new non-profit, that is community minded with committed leadership for its continued success. We are looking for Board Members to serve two to three-year terms, using their expertise and community connections to establish and direct the operations of the 746 Sports Foundation.  We hope to build programs that help keep our community safer, reduce crime and gang violence, prevent unwanted pregnancies, encourage leadership among our youth and help to build successful youth in academics and athletics.

We invite you to submit a Letter of Interest indicating your experience and why you wish to serve as a board member.  In addition, within the body of the letter please provide two names with phone numbers and e-mail addresses of references, individuals who are not family members but can attest to your character.  Please attach a copy of your most recent resume.
