4u & 6u Soccer Rules

Current U.S. Soccer rules will be the govern body of play with the following exceptions and modifications.

 Law 1: Field 30x20

Goal size: 5 feet high and 8 feet wide

 Law 2: BALL SIZE #3

 Law 3: Players

  1. Maximum of 8 players on the field at one time.
  2. Substitutions: Shall be unlimited on your possession of the ball.
  3. Players must attend 50% of practices per week to be eligible to play 50% of the time of schedule games.

 Law 4: Player Equipment:

  1. Footwear, tennis shoes or soft-cleated soccer shoes.
  2. SHINGUARDS MADATORY.

 Law 5: Referee:

  1. Referee’s decisions final.
  2. All rule infractions briefly explained to the offending player at referee discretion.

 Law 6: Duration of Game:

  1. Two 15 minutes half’s. (U6)
  2. Two 10 minute half’s. (U4)
  3. Halftime break 5 minutes.  
  4. There will be one time out per half.
    1. 1 minute time out.

 Law 7: Start of Play

                Must be (2) two touched. Opponents must be six yards from the center mark while kickoff in progress.

 Law 8: Ball In and Out of Play

                No Change from regular play.

 Law 9: Method of Scoring

                Shot on goal

 Law 10: Offside

                There shall be no Offside

 Law 11: Fouls & Misconducts

  1. Referee to explain ALL infractions to the offending player.
  2. No Caution or ejections issued to players. Referee must explain to the player.

 Law 12: Free Kicks

  1. Referee to explain ALL infractions to the offending player.

 Law 13: Throw In

Both feet behind the line- overhead behind throw in. A second throw-in allowed if the player commits a foul on initial attempt. The referee shall explain the proper method before allowing the players to re-throw.

 Law 14: Goal Kick;

  1. May be taken from any point inside the penalty area.
  2. Opponents must be six yards from the ball.

Law 15: Headers

                NO HEADERS

Law 16: Corner kicks

                No change from regular play except; opponents must be six yards away from the ball.
